Im looking to buy a pair of porro binos under $200. I hear good things about the Bushnell legends porro 8x42, and seen them priced for about 124.99. Now the Leupold mesa 8x42, which are a few dollars more at 149.99. Which one do you guys think I should buy? If anyone has experience with both of these or has compared them side by side, I would like your opinion.

The legends for me. Leupold is just overpriced for the quality.

Numerous times I've posted articles supporting the Bushnell Legnds and continue to like them a great deal.  I own the 8x42 porros and the little 8x26 inverse porros.

I love their performance for the money--more so than the Leuopold Mesas that I've borrowed from others.

Having said that, I bought a pair of Minolta Activa 7x35's recently and have been exceptionally pleased when comparing them side by side with my Bushnell Legends and my Nikon Action Extreme 7x35.

I tell ya', from my experience, it's hard to beat the value of the Activa's without stepping up to my Swift Audubons.

And the punchline is that you can find Activa's on the web for well under a hundred bucks if you look hard enough.

I love my Legends and really do think that they represent a great value, but... for almost 40% less for the Activa's, I went back and bought a pair of Activa 12x50 porros to fill a hole in my collection.

The performance was just as crisp and just as colorful.

And I got the pair for $125...

Just another brand to consider if you're looking for pretty good quality performance at a discount price.
