The 2007 Leupold catalog lists the Pinnacle line as now being available in 12x50.  They're only available in Leupold's Boone & Crockett addition.  I've seen them in another wholesaler's catalog at $589.

Has anyone handled a pair yet?  I've used the Pinnacle 10x42's before and was pretty impressed.  I'm hoping someone has seen the 12x50's and can tell me about the feel--do the big objective tubes substantially alter the good 'hold' of the Pinnacles?  Any problems with chromatic aberration?  Is the eye relief suitable for spectacle wearers?

Let me know if you've had a chance to look at a pair yet.

Thanks,
gremlin

Interesting!

I have the 2007 catalog in front of me and it has absolutely nothing about 12x50 Pinnacles in it, anywhere.

I also went to their web-site and did not see any listed there.

Also tried a google search, and could not find a Pinnacles 12x50mm binocular.

The only thing in a 12x50 is the Olympic series.

I finally found one listed at binoculars.com as the Leupold Sports Optic 12x50 Pinnacle Boone and Crockett Edition Golden Sage, for around $729, but, it had no specifications sheet. Does not look like they have any in stock.

Looking at the 2007 Optics Anniversary Edition Leupold catalog, page 50 shows the "New> Pinnacles 10x50mm AND 12x50mm Boone And Crockett Edition Binoculars".  It includes a picture as well as describes the items that come along with the binocular as part of the package.  They're only available in 'golden sage armor coating'.

Page 70 then shows all of the Green Ring series binocs and also shows the Pinnacles with the 12x50mm Boone & Crockett Edition Golden Sage as being new for 2007.

Page 100 shows Product Specifications for Binoculars, Spotting Scopes, & Rangefinders and the fifth grouping lists Leupold Green Ring Pinnacles Series Binoculars with the 12x50mm Boone & Crockett Edition as 12x magnification, 210' fov @1000 (which I thought was narrow and had to be a misprint until they listed only a 4 deg angular field of view), 30 oz. wt, 6.5" length, 50mm aperture, 24.5 twilight factor, 4.2 exit pupil, 15.4mm eye relief, 58-76 interpupillary distance, and a 9.9' close focus distance.

Page 105 shows them in the Product Ordering Information section as Part No. 62535 and only available in Golden Sage.

Soooo...  they are definitely in the 2007 Leupold catalog and they're even listed here at Riflescopes.com if you look. http://www.swfa.com/pc-8700-319-new-leupold-12x50-wind-river -pinnacle-binocular.aspx

**(competitor)usa** lists them on page 854 of their 2007 Master Catalog #30--that's where I first saw them and started trying to find out more about them, but lists them at 262' fov.

As for the website, it usually runs a bit behind at Leupold in updates to products.

It's safe to say that they are a valid product.  The question is where to find them and if anyone has seen them, what were there impressions?

Leupold only sent me the 2007 Observation Anniversary Edition which contains 32 pages.

Guess I will have to request the full length version.

As for the Leupold website,  if you go to http://www.leupold.com/home_flash.htm  there's a box on the left hand side of the menu that says  New Products 2007.  Clicking on that, it opens up a flash window that allows you to grab at the bottom and turn pages like you're reading a book.  After turning about 15 pages, you come to the 12x50 Pinnacles in Golden Sage.

So they're on the website.

They're doing a major overhaul of the website and I expect that it'll look quite different next month.

I received my Leupold 2007 Optics Anniversary Edition catalog this past week , all 108 pages.

It certainly is quite a bit nicer than the 2007 32 page catalog, and obviously more in depth.

It is nice to see binoculars in more color choices than just black. Some are available in Natural, Goldgen Sage, and Dark Earth.

The thing that is very nice about the Boone and Crockett Edition Pinnacles (10x50 and 12x50) is the Alumina adapter which allows the use of the optical thread-on system of glass filters.

Those filters are also available for their rifle scope line.
