I recently got a Mk4 3.5-10 with the M3 turret. I have read that I'm not to put it on a 20MOA base, but I already hade the bse installed. I got my rifle zeroed at 100yds and it still has all the movement to 1000yds, I guess, I don't have 1000yds to check it with.
Why is it that this scope shouldn't be mounted on a 20MOA base. The rifle is a SPS-T in .308.

That modelhas about 55 moa elevation travel, and with some base/ring combinations when using a 100 yard zero there may not be enough remaining elevation travel to go to 1000yards.
For a 308 win that should be from 33 to 43 moa depending on the rifle and ammunition.

I bought this scope used, and it was set with the turret almost all the way up. I only had about 3/4 turn before it ran out of adjustment. I boresighted it and lowered the dial about 1 full turn. I figured with a 20MOA base, I shouldn't be able to use the whole 1000yd adjustment.
