Hello there,

I'm really new to the whole forum thing so try to bare with me ;)

I'm sure you guys have heard this a thousand times already but I need help deciding between three scopes.  The main reason why I ask is because even though I know a lot about all three of them, I don't have anywhere where I can go and physically look at all three of them at the same time to compare. Has anyone here owned all three of them or at least similar models?

Nikon          Monarch X,       Target knobs,      2.5-10x44mm,      Mildot reticle

Leupold       Mark 4 LR/T      M1 knobs,       &nbs p;  3.5-10x40mm,      Tactical Milling reticle

Zeiss          Conquest,         Target knobs       4.5-14x44mm,      Mildot reticle

Here's my dilema.  The Nikon has the best adj. turrets I've ever handled and really nice glass but for some reason it's mildot reticle looks a little thicker than others I've seen, which can be an annoyance when shooting long range.  Also, I've heard their Cust. Service sucks. The Ziess has the best glass I've ever looked through and slightly higher maximum power but I've never got to mess with their target turrets OR see what their Mildot reticle looks like. I wondered if it was thinner like Leupold's TMR, or fatter like the Nikon's mildot? I also heard that their turrets are plastic and while I do baby my rifles, I wondered how the clicks feel in comparison to the Nikon's.  The Leupold's TMR is my favorite of the reticles, but again I've never handled the M1 turrets in person and I've never looked through Mark 4 or Vx-3 glass.  Plus the Leupold would be $100 more than the Nikon and $200 more than the Zeiss. (never thought I'd see the day when the Zeiss was the cheaper choice lol)

Anyhow, I was hoping that maybe some of you guys could help me answer these questions so I can come to a descision.  The scope is going on a .308 Remington 700 VLS in an HS stock.  I'm a "clicker", not a "holder" and I will mostly be shooting from 50 to 300 yards with the occasional 800-1000 yard shoot.  Internal adjustment isn't that big of a deal seeing I was planning on getting a 20moa base anyway.  I appreciate any help and thank you for your time.
