Claus has been using one for years in Denmark for deer. He is very happy with his and he has access to a lot of fine Euro scopes. I always liked his Mark4 sitting atop his Blaser 6.5x55.

Another one of those "cool the way he got that deer to hold up his rifle for him" pictures...

Have not bought anything from them in over 20 years. Discovered the Super Sniper in 97. Aint looked back since. And now that Chris and the boys are upgrading the line, i will prolly never buy anything but SS scopes ever again.

No one should buy ANY product from Leupold period. Here is my beef, what reason do they give that only police or military should be able to buy a MK 4 they manufacture? Are there not as good or even BETTER products on the market? Absolutely! I don't like S&B almost for the same reason. They get a contract for the government and civilian cost of product goes through the roof? Really? Cost should go down not up!

Sorry about the rant guys but I needed to vent.

Screw Leupold, end of rant!

But Mk6 and Mk8 are staying on the market?

I bet they are taking them off the market because they are too awesome, they make hitting your target too easy, too good of a scope, I bet that's it, too good of a scope.

Get all the knee-jerk, reactionist sheep to run out and buy them up. Then 3-4 months down the road reintroduce it under a different name and package. Marketing ploy at its best.

This is kinda like FN offering ARs that are NOT like the rifles they build for contract. Sure gubment has threatened them. I am sure we will see more of this activity in the future. Just a new version of choke point. Ronny Barrett responded to this situation appropriately.

The only reason the mark IV will not be available to civilians is because leupold is upgrading the product line. They still have to offer the mark IV to the military because they are under contract to do so through the end of 2017.
