I've never had flip up covers on any of my scopes; just couldn't stand the way they looked. Something about a big red button turned me off. Even the Kahles covers look cheesy. A friend gave me one of the new Leupold flip up covers because he didn't have a 36mm scope any more. I put it on my 2.5-8 and like it a lot. It doesn't look weird and works great. I did have to take the scope off to mount it; not enough room to screw it in with low mounts.
Now I've got to buy one for the eyepiece. $30 That's an awful fot for a scope cover. Even for Leupold, it's not much for the money. Guess I should be happy I got one free
Anyway, these are neat and work great. If you've got a newer Leupold you should try them. |
