Hi all,

After much research and optics forum stalking (primarily this one... thank you!), I
bought a Bushnell elite 4200 3-9x40 for my ruger m77 gs.

I want to install covers on the scope, and am wondering if the threading on the objective bell
(40 mm) of the 4200 will accommodate a 40mm Leupold Alumina flip cover.  Has anyone tried this?

I could not seem to find this information on the forum, though it seems that some people have used
the Leupold front covers on varying brands (e.g. NF) with success...
My Bushnell bell is threaded internally, but I do not know if 1) the thread diameter and pitch match
those of the Leupold covers OR 2) is there are enough threads on the Bushnell (depth-wise) to
allow the Leupold cover to fully seat.

With the highest ruger rings (#5, #6) on my scout rifle, the 40 mm bell *barely* clears the
< ="utf-8">
picatinny rail, and in particular there is *no* room for a flip cover that slides *over* the bell.
Surely this is a common problem for many of you.... what solutions have you tried?

Thanks much!
