New light weight scope for a Tikka t3 300 win mag. Looking to shoot out to 600yds. The two I'm comparing are Leupold vx-3 4.5-14x40 CDS and the Swaro z3 4-12x50 BL.

I know this isn't really comparing apple to apple but are the Swarovski z3 BL scopes $400 better than the vx-3 CDS?

How easy is it to get multiple turrets for each?

How accurate are the turrets?

Will both handle the recoil of the 300 mag?

I have a Meopta meostar 4.5-14x44 on a .270 with a BDC reticle and its incredibly accurate but the BDC is factory set for a .270 load and not a .300 mag. This scope is a few ounces heavier than I wanted but would it be a more tried and true option and just experiment with the reticle with different loads? Decisions decisions

Generally speaking, Swaro is better than Leupold, especially in glass.  (I don't buy Leupold, not a hater, but a firm believer that better options are almost always out there.)

I avoid caliber- and round-specific BDCs for just that reason: the setup can only work for one set of circumstances, once you deviate from that circumstance, you are estimating.  I prefer mil or MOA turrets with a verified range table.  It takes a bit of work but is very rewarding when you have to take a longer shot and your bullet finds its mark.

On 300WM, great choice, my favorite caliber by a significant margin. I had a T3 Lite camo several years ago in 300WM, it kicked like a 3-legged ninja, but it was accurate and very field-friendly.

I've been fiddling around with the CDS stuff for a few years now, in the VX3 and VX6 versions.  I've found them to be reliable and accurate so far.  If you do not like specific yardage dials made for specific loads, just get a CDS dial made up in MOA with a zero stop.   Also, not necessarily with regards to Leupy's with CDS, but with Leupold in general, I've had almost 100 hunters in camp hunting antelope, whitetails, mules, aoudad sheep, hogs and varmints with rifles wearing a Leupold of some variety.  I asks each and every one their take on all their gear.  Not one has reported any problems with them, ever.  These same hunters that show up with L scopes usually wear Swaro binoculars, and have hunted lots of places around the world.  I suspect they have good reason for using what gear they use.

So the plural of anecdote is data?

I have broken a few Leupold scopes.
I have seen MANY deadlined in bad environments and circumstances.

I have never been to Raider's hunting camp.

Carry on.

Both my hunting pard, Big AL, and myself have broken a Swaro riflescope.  In our case both happened to be a SwaroA (Z3) with erector's crashing.  Nothing is immune.  If/when I start having trouble with the VX's I'll gladly let you know.  I'm personally not much of a fan of the 4.5-14x40 VX3.
