I, too, would be curious as to how the CDS stacks up against the long range reticles...

Pros of reticle:  They can be faster in hunting situations out to medium ranges.  They don't rely on the scope's mechanical repeatability so there's less to go wrong.  Won't accidentally get turned.

Cons:  Only work on one power--don't forget!  It can take some effort to get one matched up to your load with acceptable accuracy, then if your load or conditions change you'll need to live with some error.  At various ranges you won't be aiming at the center of the target.

Pros of CDS:  You can aim at the center of the target at any range.  You can shoot with the scope  on any power.  Will likely be more precise/easier to use at longer ranges.  Versatile--if you change loads or hunt at a different altitude you can get another knob for those condtions and swap in on, swap them back and forth, etc, you can't change a reticle yourself.

Cons:  You must trust the tracking of the scope, not as fast as a reticle, could possibly get turned accidentally in use.

I probably left something out there, but I think that's most of them.
