Some great info on this forum guy's.  I need a scope for my 325WSM.  I hunt open fields mostly so long shots are common. (200-500 yards).  I'm stuck between the Swarovski Z3 4*12-50 BXR reticle or the Leupold VX3L 4.5*14-56 Boone&crocket.  What would you do and why.  Thanks

From an optical standpoint Leupold doesn't make anything in the same class as Swarovski.

I'd go with the Swarovski hands down.  It's just a better scope.

That's a lot of money for either one.

How are Swarovski scopes for durability...extremely tough?  Always hold zero no matter what?

Seems people get very excited about them but I can't stop picturing their little glass figures at the stores in the malls.

Swarovski is the better choice.  Look on samplelist for some deals.

Swaro has better glass.  To answer the above questions, yes they are tuff or just as tuff as a Leupold or any other quality scope.  Swarovski scopes hold zero and provide a much brighter image over the Leupold.  Leupold still makes a fine scope but they are outclassed in this comparison.

The glass figures in the mall I believe are a sister company to the swarovski. The crystal logo is the swan the eagle is the optik company.

I'll take your guys word for it, messed me up the first time I actually tried to go into one of the stores because I wanted to look at some scopes and binoculars to see how great they are.  Seems like every mall in San Diego wants to have those little stores here.

I've read a few times in other forums about problems with some Swarovski AV scopes, but since then all the Swarovski scopes use different erector systems?

I have a 6-24x50, with target knobs, and fine hairs on my Browning M-1000 chambered in 7mmWSM. It's my first Swarf and I'll never look back.
