Please enlighten me as to the correct way to focus these glasses, and do the same instructions apply to a pair of Zeiss 10x40B, they both have a focusing wheel fore and aft of the hinge. I think the farther of the two is the right eye diopter, but your eyes can play tricks on you after a while...

I usually use the closest wheel to get to the subject, then the far one to get the right eye into focus. However... closing the left eye and getting the right eye spot on, then reopening both eyes doesn't work as well as doing both [wheels] with both eyes open, or at least readusting the front adjustment with both eyes open. I'm more used to the more common central focusing, with right eye diopter at the right eye, like my Pentax's, Nikons, etc.

Then can drive me a little nuts... Is it me? Or am I not following the right procedure.

Efforts to find a manual online have proved even more frustrating.

Looking for some expert opinions from the old timers [and others] that have these things still.
