I have an old pair of Leitz trinavoid  10x40  binocs. I bought them  used about 10 years ago. It seems that they aren't as clear now as when I bought them. I know Leitz is out of business but is there any place that can fix them. My dad  bought the same binocs new 45 years ago and still has his. He has tried all the new stuff from just about every maker and still prefers his old ones. I have to say I agree with him on the comparisons I have made. Any help or opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Sir,
Leitz renamed itself Leica many years ago, and they are still in business, still marketing binoculars.  I'm sure that you can contact them via their website information to initiate servicing action for the binocular.
If you'd like to try an independent service company, there are a few in the U.S., such as Suddarth Optical Repair in Oklahoma (search by this name).  Maybe SWFA knows some also.

Leitz Trinovids last were made about 1987-88.  That was when the Leica Trinovid showed up.  The Leitz uses a different prism system than the Leica.  The Leitz were not phase corrected as were the Leica.  Leica would be my first call.  However IF anything substantial is broken, you may be SOL.  However a cleaning and adjustment should be doable.  I read from somewhere somebody sent theit Leitz to Leica and choked on the repair cost, so just call and see.

Suddarth Optical is a good choice too.
