When I get them, should I send them back and get the Euro Instinct HD?

I narrowed my xmas list down to only two binns. Trinovid HD 10x42 or Cabelas Euro Instinct HD. (both were the same price) I was hoping I could at least get the Meopta Meostars HD in my hand to check them out, because I'm not going to drive to Cabelas...

I went down to my local sportsmans and got my hands on the Trinovids HD along with the Swaro SLC in 10x42. (They didn't have the conquest HD or Meopta meostar HD)

I immediately noticed how jumpy the focusing was on the swaros slc, so I asked the guy if he had a non-demo pair... Same thing jumpy focus wheel.. The Leicas were smooth as silk, I was impressed. I looked at the Swaro ELs (just for the hell of it) same thing focus wheel almost felt loose, like it was missing an o-ring... anyways I checked out all the "Alpha" models.

Then, went to Bass Pro.. They had the conquest HDs but no Meostars HD.. I asked to see the Swaro SCL... same thing with the focus wheel? I wasn't impressed with the conquest HD even though I know they are well liked and raved about. I also checked out the razor HD.. not impressed.

How do the Cabelas/Meopta HDs compare to the Leica Trinovid HD? If I were going to give you a pair, your choice of the two, what would you pick and why? (customer service aside)

I dont personally own the trinovid. Owned some Leica Range finder binos. The glass was outstanding.

I do have a cabelas instinct or meopta hd. Mine are 8x32. They are fantastic, i would say 95% of my zeiss victories. I can see game 1 or 2 minutes sooner with the zeiss in the early morn, but other than that they are very good vs the zeiss.

If i didn't like having an rf bino i would only have the meoptas. They are awesome binos imo

ST I have a the Leica Range master 1200LR, and my dad has the Swaro laser rangefinder. I can tell you they we both prefer the Leica.

I just cant get my hands on the Cabelas or the meostars HDs to compare them to the Trinovids HDs. That's why I'm posting. I know the Euros are awesome from all the optic heads raving about them on forums. I narrowed it down to these two for my price point.

Anyone chime in that has/had both pair?

I'd pick the Meopta HD over the Trinovid, as it is every bit as good...I've owned one for 4 years now.   Leica CS is hit and miss, a big miss lots of times, and it does not have a transferable warranty if you decide to get rid of them down the road.  Meopta has a service facility in NY, and their CS is excellent. Google around and you'll find many examples of Leica's pathetic customer service, and some good ones too.

You can save lots of $$$ and buy a Tract Toric, which is just as good as these two.  I've had mine since July, took them to Africa, hunt mule deer with them, and they are superb.

I got the 10x42 Trinovid HDs for xmas, found a sale today for Victory SF 10x42 $1699 so I ordered them as well, one pair is going back. Will those SF blow the Trionvids out of the water? Will it even be a comparison? There is a lot of info on here for HT but not a lot for SF.

Comparing a top end Zeiss to a lower end Leica, there should be a difference.  You will really notice it in low light, looking into shadows in day light.  You will likely be able to pick out improvements in normal day light viewing as well if you really look.  I am sure there will be a lot of features that make it better.  Plus it sounds like you got a smoking deal on them.  My Victory RF's were the same price you got.  Every time I use them I am just thrilled.  They are just such a joy to look through.

As I posted above my Zeiss are indeed better than my Meopta's but the Meopta's are very nice.
