Hello all, I read somewhere that leica will be making scopes again. I have hunted with a friend who had several rifles with very sweet 4x14 Leica scopes on them.
Does anyone know if this is true and when they will be available.

Thanks

Charlie

Yes, that's the rumor, Charlie.  I have one of the previous Leica Ultravid 3.5-10X42 scopes (made for Leica by Leupold using Leica glass), and it was a nice scope.  It is my understanding from a Leica rep I talked to at a show I attended a few months ago that the new scope will be made entirely in-house at Leica's manufacturing facility in Germany.  I've heard no official word on when it will be available.

Why not Nikon also had to do something with all that photo quality glass when film cameras went poof. What next ---- Hasselblad, Schneider & Mamyia, Bronica rifle scopes?

I think that's a pretty safe bet.
