Does anyone know why Leica is not selling these in the USA? I know Leica only recently won a court case in the UK, and can now sell these scopes there (Swarovski claimed patent infringement). I'm wondering if Leica is facing a legal battle here, as well, but I cannot find any information on this.

Has their been a new appeal?
I thought that Swarovski patent was upheld in a British court in August, but I have not looked into it since. ILya

Leica won an appeal in October, 2014.

That is good to know. I am sure they will have an update at SHOT. I am scheduled to see Leica on Wednesday morning.

I spoke to someone at Leica USA last week, and was told they aren't selling Magnus scopes in the USA. I didn't ask why, but wish I would have done.

Leica has won the legal battle in Europe and technically they can bring them here, although it will take a little effort to do so.
If they do bring them, it may not be for a bit. I think they have their hands full with the introduction of ER5 scopes, so Magnus line is a low priority. ILya

Swarovski somehow got a patent on a particular optical design feature. Should have never been granted.

I just looked it up and the action taken by Swaro was ridiculous. Had to do with riflescopes with a wider zoom range than 4x and using a field flattening lens to get a sharp imagine throughout the magnification range and edge to edge in the FOV.
