Has anyone found out why www.impactguns.com is blowing out their Leica Televid 62's at 817.00? It was too late for me to call them today but I'm curious if Leica has an update to the Televids scheduled and shops like Impact will be discounting their inventory.

No shameless advertising from me Anweis. I'm shopping for Leica or Swaro and check prices on the internet everyday. Now if you happen
to know if Leica has an update scheduled to their product line, that would be a useful post. Good luck with post # 234.

Impact says they're just doing some spring cleaning and they don't know if Leica has anything new planned for the Televid
line. The leica rep will probably be in Reno this week at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation convention. I'll check with him.

The RMEF convention in Reno was good. A lot to see. I spoke with the Leica rep and he said he hadn't heard
anything at all about any upcoming changes to the Televid line. I also had a chance to use both the Leica 62 and the
Swaro 65 side by side. The Leica was an APO and the Swaro was HD. Both scopes were equally clear but I thought
the Swaro was brighter. This surprised me and didn't make things any easier because I was fairly set on the Leica.
Now I'll have to spend some time at the store comparing both outdoors. The Leica rep said something
interesting....that the Non- APO glass in Leica Televid scopes is equal to or better than the HD Swaro scopes. All
standard Leica glass is essentially HD. But APO scopes have an additional lense which aligns the light to more
accurately represent the color spectrum. So Swaro HD scope glass has multiple coatings and treatments but Leica
APO scopes have an an extra lense for more accurate light arrangement and color interpretation.

I know there's more to than smoke and mirrors...and of course the cost. I'll just have to see which one seems more
ergonomic etc. Maybe compare warrantys and pick one and use it...a lot.

I've had exceptionally bad experiences with Impact Guns' customer service.

Order at your own risk.

And know that I can't say nothing good about them and nothing bad about Chris and SWFA.

If a deal is too good to be true, it usually is.

The only thing interesting about the rep's comment is that you apparently believed them.

I suggest you seek out a better source for technical information about the design, construction, and performance of various scopes (especially when attempting to do comparisons) than a professional salesman who has a vested interest in you selecting his product rather than someone else's (and who very likely doesn't really understand what he's telling you anyway.)

Really what you've done is akin to going to a Ford guy and asking him to tell you why his truck is better than a Chevy.

BTW; I too have very little good to say about Impact Arms.  They have never impressed me with their prices, their customer service, or anything else.
