I am new to this forum. I have an old BSA Martini Cadet that has been chambered for the .22 K Hornet.

I like the looks of the older Unertl, Fecker, Lyman, Redfield, Litschert, scopes. They look like they belong on this rifle. However most, that are in good shape bring very high prices. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the new Leatherwood USMC Sniper replicas. They aren't cheap either at around $550. My cadet has Unertl bases spaced at a little over 7". I may end up with a modern scope but, then would need new bases ( drilled to fit the holes as I don't want to add more holes) or a rail drilled to match the existing holes, for around $100. Any thoughts or suggestions.
