Hello. Newbie here, just received an M1000 ART scope for my M14. It may have a problem, but not sure. The base of the scope is bent. That is to say that where the scope mounts to the pic rail, it's high in the middle and low on both ends. This condition changes with the amount of range cammed in. Another concern is that when I select the cam setting appropriate that's correct for my cartridge and dial the magnification higher, the nylon roller on the base reaches the end of the cam prior to 10X (max) being reached. Is that normal, or am I screwing something up?   I do have pics, but I must figure out how to post the links to them.

Just got mine in too. Never noticed a bent base, but just saw a youtube video with some guy complaining about the same thing. I'm figuring the rail should give it more rigidity. I also have the problem of the cam going all the way to the screw (end of the cam), I'm set at 330 for .308 150gr. It rolls through the cam pretty easy up til about 800 meters, but then gets tough to turn out to 1000 meters. I'll see how it sights in tomorrow...

I have an M1000, one of the early ones, two ART Sporters, VERY EARLY ones (one is number 49 sold to the public), and a Weaver/Leatherwood ART from the VietNam era... never experienced anything like the problems described and cannot even visualize what they might be.  I suggest you contact customer service.

Actually, I emailed tech support, but no response yet. (couple weeks). I posted here due to the obvious expertise of many of you members. Thanks for chiming in with your experiences! Here's a link to a pic showing the bend:

Well I just got done unmounting mine. Horrible don't cover how bad it was. I have a 4'x4' target. Sight in at 100 yards.... didn't even touch the target. Moved in to 50 yards and aimed low... still no hit. Hmmm.... moved in to 25 yards and used the second mil dot up... I see a tree limb 6 feet above the target get hit! I put a laser on it and the vertical line up only makes it to 3rd mil dot down and the windage moves diagonally at about a 45° angle. I think I got a lemon...

So many years ago, purchased a new Belgium FN FAL in 308 and a Leatherwood A/R scope set it for NATO round of that time, still works well, had it cleaned and re-charged once.

Ok, it looks like some how a %20 got added to the end of that link... If you delete the %20 characters, it works...
Here's another link, hope it works, but as you see, I haven't much computer mojo!

Neal, feel free to email me at corbett@hi-luxoptics.com.  I have a few questions about your set up, and perhaps we can figure out if it is a mount/scope relationship issue or a scope issue.

Best Regards,

Corbett

Sorry Corbett, I'm guessing I didn't have the notify reply box checked. I have a Remington 700 VTR in .308 with a 0 MOA rail (I emailed you guys about what MOA mount to use.) I just posted on another tread so you may see that one too... I sent the first one back to competitor. The second one was a poorly re-manufactured unit and I sent it back. Now the new one I can't hit any piece of a 4x4 foot target. I know you guys make quality scopes and I love the red dot on my AK. I only get home once a week from driving so haven't had the time really to mess with setting a known good scope on this rig. I bought this gun with the express purpose of utilizing the M1000. So not having hit anything with it since I bought both is kind of agonizing.

Neal, just wondering, have you tried adjusting the cam on your m-1000 per the instructions? I tried, (m14) and found that I couldn't crank the power up all the way without the nylon roller falling into the counterbore on the cam ring. Just wondering what your experience was. fwiw, I haven't shot mine, as I may try sending it back to where i bought it. They have a return policy that sez if you mount it you bought it. Of course, for this scope, it comes mounted in rings, so...
