I have been studying this for about an hour now, (Head Banger) and need some opinions. I've found some conflicting information between Leatherwood's website, SWFA, and another website...which I assume is disrespectful to talk about here...?? This 'other' website is showing a Leatherwood line that is not even on Leatherwood's website. The scope line is not showing on SWFA, and I figured that if they made such a scope, SWFA would surely know about it, correct?

You will have to be a little more specific there, Airborne.  However, sincere "thank you" for your service and proud to have you aboard.

I'm glad you answered, as I've seen your comments about Leatherwood scopes in another thread somewhere.Smile Well, to the point....this other website is advertising an "Elk Country" line of scopes by Leatherwood...?? There is no Elk anything on LW's website. What can you make of this?

Sorry, we are having a thunderstorm here and my power went out for a few minutes.  The network is on UPS, but I still lost commo capability for a few minutes.

The "Elk Country" is a part of the Hi-Lux line.  Legitimate.  I have never used one.

Oh, ok....So, are you saying that LW needs to update their site, then maybe SWFA will start carrying them? Or...do the Elk's fall under one of the other lines like Uni Dial or Professional, ect...that I may be overlooking on their site?

The Elk Country is part of the Hi-Lux All Terrain Riflescope line.  If it is not on the Leatherwood site, it may be very new or an exclusive part of the Hi-Lux portion.  I know they also have the Varmint Country and the Buck Country.  It has the no-math mil-dot, but I don't think it has the uni-dial feature.  Their site has changed a couple of times recently and I haven't really visited the new site.  I will do some checking and see what I can find out about this particular scope series, if you are really interested.  I am sure SWFA can get you one if you really want it. Just because they don't have it listed doesn't mean they couldn't get one for you.

Vr,
Dan

Ok, well thanks for your help.Big Grin I was 'semi-interested' in it, but mainly trying to figure out what the deal was with their website. I guess they will be updating it soon. May give them a call on Monday. The Elk I found was a 2.5-10x44....but I'm sort of leaning towards getting the Buck Country 1.5-6x42. Any experience with that one?

My interest in the Leatherwood scopes has focused on the ART camputer models.  I would like to try the uni-dials someday, maybe.  Sorry I cannot be of more help.

Ok, well you were a big help to me. Thanks. I think I'm going to go with the Buck I listed above, and I'll let you know what I think about it.

Make sure it is a "newer" one.  I know they recently improved their quality in several areas, including glass.
Very interested in your thoughts on it.

Oh yes, I noticed that as well. The ATR one on their website looks different than the one on SWFA. I'm assuming that one is the older model. Now the one right below it, 3-9x40 is the newer one.
