Recently acquired a Leatherwood Hi-Lux U8.5-25x50MD Uni-Dial scope through a family estate.
Does anyone know where I might get a copy of the manual or instruction sheet that originally came with it? Leatherwood has none in their archive data base.

This scope has been discontinued and replaced by the 7-30x50 30mm tube.

This is the model that has the flags that you can set for varying zeros. The windage adjustment turret turns freely with discernable clicks. The elevation adjustment turns much stiffer and has NO CLICKS!

Is this the way this scope is supposed to be or do I have a problem.

Any help or advice from anyone familiar with this scope would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys

Have you tried calling Leatherwood and seeing if they could mail one to you?

Or asking them if components on the one that you own have any similarity to others that they have created?

Chances are that they are mechanically very close by comparision and the only difference is the magnification.

I would call Leatherwood and speak with one of their technicians.

Thanks Skylar...I contacted Leatherwood and Iron Sight and was told that parts for my scope were no longer available and that the scpoe could not be repaired. I then asked "what about the limited lifetime warranty?"

I was offered a new scpoe at a somewhat reduced price which I declined. Please keep in mind that if you are considering purchasing a Leatherwood scope that you too may be left with a useless warranty and an unrepairable scope.

For the price they charge for their scopes I think Leatherwood should maintain parts for them for a reasonable time to protect customers. Even on discontinued models.

Guess my attitude of taking care of and repairing my equipment is considered old hat in this "throw it away and get a new one" society we now seem to be living in.

I will stick with Leupold in the furure.

Just an FYI, there are better scopes with just as good if not better warranties for less money. Vortex comes to mind as one of them.
