I am in need of scope for a 454 Cassual lever action rifle.  I need a scout scope.  I have tried two pistol scopes, the eye relief did not fit the application.  I can only find a Burris scope in 2.75 x 20mm and Leupold 2.5 x 32mm.  I know these scopes would be very good, but I was looking for a little more magnification.  Does anyone have any experience with the Leatherwood scope?

Is that the Puma M92 Rifle? I think the Leatherwood scopes are like all the other low priced optics out there, you might get a good one and maybe not. 13.2-8.7 eye relief is a big difference. If that's the one that will work for you try it, for $185. your not out that much. Can I ask why you need so much eye relief for that lever action? Just curious

Too much magnification counteracts the scout scope operating principals of shooting with both eyes open.

.............Ped1964...........You want a great scout scope?? I have two of the same, one of which is for sale.

I`ve got a 2.5-8x28 Nikon Monarch UCC EER, that is a better scope optically than the Leatherwood or the Burris imo. I was using it on my 300 WSM Ruger Frontier in the scout position. It is 15 months old, was used at the range only and is virtually like new...........See my posts under "Optics for Sale" and PM me if you are interested.

...........Unless you set it on the lower power. Set on 2.5x, my 2.5-8x28 Nikon EER works fine with both eyes open.
