Just wondering if anyone has tried this scope out yet?  I'm looking at purchasing one to put on my M1A for hunting in some woody areas.  I know millet makes a similar one but have heard good and bad of it?

I have not used the CMR personally. However, I did get to take a look through one today.  To me, it definitely seemed to be a step up in optics from the Millett DMS, the adjusments were solid and it comes at a great price. SWFA also has these IN STOCK. Yippee

The reticle looks useful. The "Made in China" factor will have me look to other optics for my shooting needs, though.

I avoid "Made in China" optics.  Like knives, they tend to suck. Badly.  but they sure can look nice when you first buy them. Admittedly.

What is your budget?
What do you "need"?
What do you want?

FYI: M1s can be tough to scope, be ready to spend at least $200 just to get a suitable mount.  My advice, get a tritium front site and stick with iron sites.

It is the Loaded model that comes with the Voltor Rail system on it.  Right now I actually have the SS 10x42 on it.  Which is a great scope!  However, I purchased a Howa M-1500 with the new Axiom stock, brand new for $500 wo a shot fired through it, from a friend who was in need of some money.  Anyways, I'm taking the SS of the M1A and putting it on the Howa.  I've considered going with the SS 3-9 x 10 on the M1A as well.  I would like to keep the scope under $500.  The only reason I was looking at the Leatherwood was because of the reticle.

Just saw the post on the 1-4x24 SS due out sometime.  Think I will wait for it and upgrade the front site to tritium for now and mount the 10x42 on the Howa.  Thanks!

RC,

Any recommendation on a maker for the tritium front site...I see there are quite a few on the market.  Below are just a couple I looked at.

My m1a currently has a national match .062" military post with the rear sight being GI Match Grade .0520
