Has anyone ever used the Caldwell Lead Sled?  If so, would you suggest it for sighting in 300 wsm?  Is it a good idea to use it however, if it reduces so much of the recoil?  In my realisitic shooting environment, i will probably be shooting standing either supported or unsupported.  I still think it would be nice to get a nice tight group and then maybe I could take some shots without it.  This would be to avoid the shock of the recoil!  any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!

which one did you buy? I shoot mine 300 off the bench just using a rest and a mag shoulder pad sometimes.  a friend has the lead sled and he swears by it i havent tried it yet but the princible behind it is alright. you will find if you stick with the 150-165 grain bullets that it does have recoil but not bad atleast not for me.. i have some 130gr loads that are pure fun to shoot and accurate.

you might try a site on short mags some time its a good bunch of people(www.shortmags.org). good luck you will love this caliber, if you reload for ir you will have to full length resize your cases as neck sizing just doesnt seem to work.

I would like to try out one of those Caldwell Lead Sleds sometime. The idea looks sound and I can see how a couple heavy bags of lead shot would tame the recoil on any hard-kicking magnum. Would save the shoulder at the range for sure.
