Anyone here had lasik or know someone that  had this procedure done? I was evaluated today for lasik and I am a candidate for this eye surgery.  I am looking for some feedback before i make my decision to have it done.

I did it a few years back.  Can't believe how wonderful it is.  I use to notice my contact edge when i used a scope unless I held just perfect but with the lasik no problems with that anymore.  I was at -7.75 in both eyes and now I am at 20/25 in both.  Walked into the doc with glasses, 8 hours later I could see great, no pain, no discomfort.

A lady here at work just had hers done on Friday.  She is back at work today without her glasses and said she tested 20-15.  She is very thrilled.  Her daughter had it done 4 months ago and had the same results.

I had it done many years ago. It was some of the best money I've ever spent.

I also had it done a few yrs back. Very glad, not to have to deal with glasses anymore. Some things to keep in mind, I'm soon turning 49 and starting to need reading glasses. That I don't mind. And there is a better than 50% chance you will have a continuous issue with dry eye. They will probably advise keeping eye drops handy like "natural tears" which is no big deal either, execpt the better quality drops are expensive. I don't use the drops as often as I should but I have no regrets. Wish I could have done it yrs ago. Good Luck!

Wow.  Your vision was worse than mine.  I'm -6.00 in both eyes.  I was all set to get the lasik done, but the doc said that my corneas were "too thin".  Bummer.Whatever

My brother had it done a few years ago.  He liked it at first.  He is back to wearing glasses.  I guess he is in the failed minority.

Sorry to hear that BW. I remember that being a big concern going in. Would I be one of the few and would they be willing to make it right if needed.
