I've been looking quite a while now for a handgun scope with an objective larger than 32mm.  Does anyone make such a beast?  I am shooting a Pro Hunter 30 T/C and have a hard time finding my target in the woods with only a 32mm scope.
Thanks,
Charles

I don't know of any that are bigger than 32mm.  What kind of scope are you using?  The reason I ask is the quality of the glass is going to make more difference than anything.  If you have say a 4x28 scope then you have 7mm of exit pupil already, at that point a bigger objective is not going to allow you to see better because the band of light coming through the scope is already larger than the pupil in your eye.  Your eye can only use so much of that light.  But if you have a scope with better glass then the image will be sharper and clearer and appear to be much brighter than that same image with cheaper glass.  So you may be best off buying a more expensive scope with better glass.

........................I don`t think you`ll find such a scope!. A larger objective bell will not mean that you`ll find your target easier. Handgun scopes generally have narrower FOV`s............ However, you can still find a target easily if you get an EER scope that allows you to aim and acquire your target with BOTH eyes open. Speed and ease in finding your target, is in your FOV, NOT the objective bell size!!!..........FOV is not just limited to only one eye; the one eye that looks through the scope! With both eyes open, the signal to the brain is faster, as opposed to looking through a scope with only one eye while the other is closed or squinted....... Your 30 T/C is also a nice longer range hunter too. So! Go with the scope that I use, not only on my revolver but as a scout scope that I use on my 300 WSM Ruger Frontier rifle too!...............The Nikon Monarch 2.5-8x28 UCC EER............Go to,,,,,shootingtimes.com,,,,and click on "optics"........Scroll down and turn the pages until you find the article "Dual Purpose Optics from Nikon" by Dick Metcalf. A very good read!.........Remember! A wider front objective bell WILL NOT increase your speed or make it easier to acquire your target! Besides, if there were such as scope, it would increase your weight. Not exactly what I consider a good idea!Wink

I have to concur on the Squeezer report. Larger objective will be a definite set back on a handgun. low power, relief and speed are the biggest factors here for handgun scopes.

I am currently using the Simmons Pro Hunter 2-6 x 32mm.  I bought it just before rifle season last year because it was the closest thing I could find locally to what I wanted in such little time.  I just don't want to wait to the last minute this year and have to use the same scope that I'm now using.  I don't like this one I have.  The optics aren't very clear.  I'm used to Leuopold and Nikon's optics on my rifles and they are very hard to beat.

Thank you all for your input on the subject.
