I inherited a 30 year old VX-II that was a bit hazy. I called Leupold and they couldn't have been more helpful. They said send it in so I did. I thought I'd have to pay to have it cleaned and fixed.  Less than two weeks later it's back with no charge.  It's refurbished, and looks and works like new.

It's great to see a company stand by their product!

Earlier this year I found 2 Leupold scopes I put in a drawer during the move to a storage building in 1989.
Then moved the same drawer in my current home in 1991. I forgot they were in there until I was moving things around in the basement, and found them.
One was my M8-24x, and the other was a Vari-X III 2.5-8x36. (Built in 1978)
The power selector ring on the Vari-X III took so much force to rotate it, that it was hurting my hand.
So I sent it to Leupold, and they called and said a cam inside the scope was broken.
Since they no longer had the necessary part to repair the scope, they were replacing it.
I got a brand new VX-3 2.5-8x36 at no cost to me.
The CS rep also said the Engineering Dept had check the scope for abuse, and found no signs of such.

I was pleasantly surprised at the free replacement, but I'm sure happy with Leupold's CS.
I will always have some Leupold's around because of their service.

Leupold has always been a great company to deal with.
I use their optics for LR shooting more than any other brand.
I use NF and hope to use some Vortex in the future, but use more Leupy's than anything else.

I have had the same good results with Leupold for many years and lots of scopes. They may not be the clearest or the brightest available, but they are always good and stand by their products.

Whether you're a Leupold fan or not this is one area that everyone owes a thank you to Leupold for. They pushed lifeestablished a pretty high bar for the industry for warranty and customer service that forced many of their competitors to step up to. I can remember when what we sort of take for granted these days was not the norm.
