I have a pair of the 8x33 XD's for about a year now.
IMHO they are good glass's but are not as contrasty as the premium glass from Nikon (EDG), Leica (Ultra HD), Swarovski (EL) or Zeiss (FL).
All of the top glass's are at least 50% more expensive, the European glass's are also a bit lighter.
The larger 8x43 and 10x43 Genisis are very heavy, over 30+ ounces.
They are more expensive than the Meopta's and little better optically.
You will need to look through a pair and check the ergonomics to really see if they are right for you.

Thanks gulf1263, I got to check a pair out yesterday, had vortex? swarovski slc, kowa, and swaro el's in the comparsble sizes and I was surprised to see that (for me) the genisis fell between the swaro slc's and the el's . They very noticeably better than the slc's and not quite as good as the el's as far as image, and much nicer function than the slc's.  I was able to set the eyecups and adjust the body to get a very clear single barrel image that was clearer to the edges than the scl's IMO. This out of a bino that retails for $1200.

Thanks Peddler, I am not an expert by any means on the larger Kowa bino's.
Maybe 44mm objectives are what adds the weight.
I prefer 8X32-33 and 7x42 bino's, personal preference.
I am keeping the Kowa 8x33's, good glass and rugged.
Everyone's eyes are a bit different, that is why trying before buying is so important.

Gulf, there is no doubt about that. Whatever works best for you is the correct thing.
