Still debating on a new scope for my new .300 WSM  In my research and browsing of the scopes available. I've heard some pretty good reviews about the Kahles helia CL 3-10x50.  Does anybody have one or have any experience with one? Also, how does it compare to the swarovski z6 2-12x50 and schmidt and bender zenith 3-10x50?  It is much cheaper than the later two I mentioned, and in my experience you usually get what you pay for. I'm look for low light capability and durability.  Thanks for all yalls help thus far. This is a great site and lots of useful info and help.

I have that scope, it's awesome, I love it
it to my eyes was better than a Swarovksi American 3-10
it's so clear, sharp, bright with great resolution
I can read license plates clearly at night at 300 yards with just minimal street lighting

I can see at 200 yards at night under trees with no lighting clear enough to take a confident shot when with my eyes I can just barely see the shadows of the trees

I have experience with both the Z6 and Kahles C. The CL with it's 1" tube is a slight step down from the C (I prefer the 30mm for the added benefits). IMHO both the Z6 and Schmidt & Bender are both optically better than the Kahles. I would take the Z6 between the two because it's huge additional benefits of a wider FOV and better power range. I love the 2-12 range vs. the typical 3-10 range. The S&B might be a little on the heavy side for a hunting scope if you spot and stalk.

I have the CL 3-10X50 and its awesome!  I would buy another.  I don't have any experience with the Swaro or S&B.  Either way you are talking about the top of the heap in regards to optics!  Which ever you choose, check out the samplelist.com - great way to save a few bucks or get more bang for your buck!

for example:

8982 Swarovski 2-12x50 Z6 59313, Matte finish, 4A reticle, 30mm tube, fast focus eye piece, reseatable windage and elevation, 100% like new condition $1,887.00 $1,449.95

HKV I took my newly acquired CL 4-12X52 mounted to the range.  After bore sighting it took 4 shots to sight it in.  The view is awesome and the eye relief is generous.
