Would someone give me a fair comparison between the Kahles CL 3-10X50 mm. vs. the Zeiss Conquest 3.5 -10X50 mm. I am deciding which is a better scope for deer/bear hunting on a .260 Rem. Thanks in advance!

I should have said, whitetail deer and black bear. I forgot to add, shots will be 300 yards max. Probably more on the lines of 100-200 yards.

Both are excellent, but most people who have compared the two, myself included, have found the Kahles CL series has superior optics to the Zeiss Conquest series.  The Kahles CL is regarded by many as the finest 1" tube scope available today, but again, the Conquest is no slouch.  Although I don't have those particular models, I own both a Conquest and a CL.  Some prefer certain reticles in each line over the other, so reticle selection may play a part in your decision.

Thanks RifleDude,

I'm leaning toward the 4A reticle for the intended prey I'm hunting.

Hard choice that is really a toss up. Love my Conquest but the Kahles is probably better overall. At the ranges you mentioned, you should be fine with either one.

Well I just bought a Kahles 3x10 50 CL for my 300 Win Mag and I have compared both scopes. The Kahles has superior glass and edge to edge clarity. Side focus is also very nice. However I do love the Zeiss Z Plex reticle and the glass isn't bad either but the Kahles is better in my opinion. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. I love the Z Plex soo much I'm gonna buy a 3.5x10 44 Conquest for my 270 WSM. You need to compare both scopes side by side and buy the one you prefer. I like both but the Kahles has the edge in glass.

I agree on the Z-Plex, Lawnfella.  It is one of the nicest plex reticles available in my opinion --  just the right thickness on the thick posts, nice thin center crosshairs, and a perfect amount of separation between the thick portions in the center.  The Kahles plex is rather thin for my taste.  In the KAhles, I would definitely go for the 4A.

I own a 3-9x40 Conquest and a Kahles 4-12x52 CL and I'm very impressed with both. They each have the 4A reticle and I'd have to agree that the Kahles 4a is thinner than the Conquest.

I shot a running deer with the rifle the Conquest is mounted on and was surprised at how quickly I was able to acquire and track the running target with the 4A reticle. I would recommend the 4A without reservations for this type of shooting.

The Kahles is mounted on a longer range, more deliberate aiming rifle (varmint barrel), so I don't mind that the crosshairs on it are a little less robust.
