I've enjoyed reading the forum for the past several months...finally decided to join.My question is this...what is the difference in the 7a and the plex reticle in Kahles and Swarovski? They look exactly the same on the computer...Am I missing something here?? Thinking about getting one of the two brands and trying to identify the reticle to go with it. Thanks for any helpful info.

Not much difference between the two. The 7a is squared off before it goes to the fine in the center. The Plex kinda tapers to fine. It's hard to tell in these pictures, but you have a little more fine in the center with the 7a.

Thanks Brady for the info...Another question concerning the two scopes? I know all about the 1 inch vs. 30mm debate but I am going to get the 30mm tube in 50 or 56mm , and I keep reading where Swarovski's are just "better" scopes than Kahles, but in your opinion which one would you pick as the best scope for low light shooting?? I hunt in So. Mississippi/Alabama where a lot of big deer are shot in food plots by guys who can still see them! I am worried about reaching a point of diminishing returns between the two and would like your take on it. Thanks for any helpful insight.

Get the Swarovski. I have personally hunted with both the kahles and Swarovski. The difference between the two is noticeable, but not overwhelming.   The little difference there is will show itself in those late evenings.

Here is a helpful thread that can explain the relation between the two.

Also read the link Chris provided in his post. It will give more information on Kahles and Swarovski.
