What type of Kahles scope would you recommend for low light hunting?

if your budget allows, go w/ the kahles C

if it doesn't - the KX is only a little bit behind the C in terms of quality, IMO.

you can't go wrong.

I would get a 50mm objective - that way at higher magnification, you'll have just a bit more light come through.

let us know what you decide.

what's it going on? and what are you hunting?

J

+10 great advice.  The C is ridiculously good.  I have a 3-12X56, it's a great model.  I would recommend the #4 reticle, it is really easy to see in low light.

If it is a light-weight gun, I'd avoid the 56mm objective.  Likewise, if you will be hunting in woodlands and taking short shots, go with less magnification.

I am amazed at how overscoped most people are.  3-9 is more than enough for most applications, 1-6 is even better for most applications.

Unless you plan to take a shot over 500 yards, 6X is more than adequate.  If you avoid the high powers, you can avoid the large bells and lose nothing in the process.

rancid IS right - you don't NEED a huge objective bell.

But i have been so used to 50's and 56's, i am just plain used to em.

you can do 95% of your shooting in the woods w/ a 1.5-6x42 scope - and +1 on the #4 reticle - nothing is better for deer.

good luck - pick ANY kahles and you come out ahead.

J

+1

I'm also a fan of the "large objective" scopes.  The size doesn't bother me in the least.
