Kahles became and has been until recently, a division of Swarovski.  The Swarovski scope is probably the closest competitior to Kahles and many of Kahles recent designs were done while Kahles was part of the Swarovski product line.  The Helia scopes were made in different styles and model configurations for quite a few years and are very excellent scopes in all of their fixed power offerings.  The Helia S would have sold for close to $500 new in 4X.  The recently discontinues 6x fixed power scopes were selling for about $1000. in the most recent ad that I have seen for one.  The 4a reticle is probably the most common.

It will have a steel tube.  These were the predecessors to the Helia C iine.  I have a Helia L, which is the aluminum version of the Helia S, in variable power and the optics are as good as my Helia C models.   The steel tubes with the gloss finish show ring marks more than the aluminum matted finish tubes of the C/CS/CL/CB/CBX line.

You should be able to get it for under 500$, IMO.  The 4a reticle is great for hunting.  If the price is right, I'd go for it.

Good luck!

Last year at Cabelas of all places, I found an older used Remington 700 ADL .243 topped with a Kahles Super 6S2 priced at $399. I was broke but had plastic money. The scope body/tube has light scatches anf finish wear you would expect of a scope on a hunting rifle. It has a 4a plex reticle with perfect glass. The scope is OK in appearance but is no beauty  queen. I was after a scope I could count on to see in very low light and I darn sure got it. That scope Is worth what I paif for it AND the rifle. Make no mistake - I'm not a scope expert but i''ve looked through some very nice scopes over the years. The Kahles that, in the end, I paid about $160-$200 for, is BY FAR THE GREAYEST GLASS I'VE EVER KOOKRF THROUGH. I'm doing the happy dance because I paid a couple bills for a scope that others are handing over 4 figures in hard earned cash to TRY and equal my world class bargain. I may even inquire about getting some sort of distance measuring reticle installed at the factory. I heard they will rebuild the scope to factory new condition. I'd just like the finish to look new and and, if possible, a different/custom measuring reticle. I've never been so happy with a rifle scope!@
I'm hoping to sell the rifle topped with a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 I picked up NIB for $99. The rifle in good condition should bring $200-$240. The Nikon scope should up the value $100+. I do not need the Nikon as I have a vintage Redfield Lo-Pro Wideview 3-9 on the way. The new Nikon should  make the .243 a little more appealing for someone looking to buy someone their first deer rifle.

I'm hooked on Kahles.
