I was thinking of buying. Im debating between the Kahles for $450 or a Swarovski 3-10x42 AV for around $600. Both are supposed to be new. Which would you prefer?

What are you going to use it for?
Personally for my needs, I like the little extra power and a larger objective of the Swaro. |

I would prefer the Kahles personally. The 2-7 FOV on the high end is not that much wider than the 10 power on my Swarovski & Kahles 2.5-10 scopes. It also gives you a lot more on the lower end.
Just my 0.02...

Again Dave, it depends on your needs. Are you hunting with it and where.
Do you want an additional 3x at the high end or a difference of only 1x
at the low end. Are you going to use it mostly in low light conditions?
Do you want a light weight set up or the few ounces doesn't matter.
Out west we have the need for a little more power from our optics as well as hunting in low light conditions. Weight can play into it if we're on the move which a lot of times I am. For me, I prefer the Swaro. The Kahles is nice too, I just picked up the same model with 4a reticle for my daughter but at thirteen she just started deer hunting and it fits her needs of a smaller (but excellent) scope on a small light weight .243 Edited by mike650 - December/19/2011 at 12:55 |

Well how do the optics in your Swarovski compare to the Kahles?
