IMO, the Kahles will outperform the Conquest (but I'm no expert).

Shooter,
You're not likely to get unanimous agreement on this or any other comparison of scopes in a similar class, but I think Kahles CL is slightly better than Conquest optically.  Mechanically, I couldn't comment since I haven't had either fail on me.

If money is not an issue, go with the Kahles - otherwise save some save some dough and get yourself a Conquest, you certainly will not be disappointed.

which versions are you looking at?  I have a CL 3.5-10X50 and got my son a Conquest 3-9X40.  Both are excellent.  My CL has the regular plex reticle and it is a little thin, the Conquest 3-9X40 has a great low light reticle!
take em!

I have experience with the Conquest, what I like most is glass quality and recticle (Z plex) works wonderfully in low light. I could buy that and be happy, but you know how it is - new toys are tempting as long as they work in low light. I think the Kahles with 52mm lense might work in comparison to the Zeiss - but Im not sure (hence my question here).  Now anyone know the difference between Helia KX and CL models?

Not much difference.  Basically, the CL versions (except for 2-7X36 CL) came with side focus parallax adjustment and the CL line in general has a tad better resolution than KX.  CL was also offered with the Multi-Zero option.  Both are outstanding scopes.  Kahles is no longer making any 1" tube scopes, for the moment, anyway.  The prices you can get Kahles KX and CL scopes (where you can find them) are much lower than what they originally retailed for.

Go with the Kahles.  Had a Conquest, but upgraded to Kahles.  Unfortunately, I never did an apples to apples comparison.

I think you'll really like the Kahles glass and if you can find one with a #4 reticle even better.  I also agree with you the the Z-plex is fantastic, probably the best ples type reticle out there.  Either way both are great scopes and I'd be proud to won either.
