I just purchased a Kahles CL 2-7X36 after receiving some good advice on this forum. I now have someone offering me an AH model of the same scope for $500.00. I'm considering buying it for my grand daughter to put on her .243. Is the AH model similar to the CL, and is $500 a fair price?

I'm sure the CL is the better line. However, the AH is likely fine but regarding price ??? My initial thought was that the price was a bit high. Lets see what other folks on here have to say.

The AH model is similar to the CL. The CL is better optically, with a bit better resolution. AH is an older variation of their 1" line.
$500 is on the high side of fair, considering what they originally retailed for. I would offer the owner $400 for it. I think that's more in line with what you could get them for not long ago when various online retailers were blowing out their discontinued Kahles inventory. The problem is the 2-7X36 in any flavor, and Kahles 1" tube scopes in general, are pretty hard to find for sale these days. Therefore, if you want one, you may have to either pay a higher asking price or wait awhile to find one offered for sale on Gunbroker, Guns America, Ebay, internet forums, etc. |

Thanks for the replies. I only paid $400 for the CL I just bought so I think I'll pass on the AH.

When I bought my AH Kahles scopes new they were close to $500 some years ago. Used I would consider $400 a fair price used now, if there is any such thing on European used scopes anymore. They are usually over priced.
