I could not be happier with the Kahles 8X42 as a hunting binocular.  They are bright, sharp, and fit your hand well.  The adjusments are easy and stay in place.  They are solid but not heavy and bulky.  I have never seen one with better light gathering capability, but I do acknowledge that I have never used a binocular that cost more than $750.  I stayed on the stand for quite a while after sunset and finally decided that I could hunt all night with these binoculars.  It never got to where I wouldn't be able to identify a deer in the hunt area due to darkenss.   I guess that qualifies for bright.

I am not a bino expert like many who post here, but I am one happy bino layman.  Thanks for helping me make a great choice.
