I made it back from last weeks trip to Denver. (A place I never care to return to.) Took a few pics for ED. I know how much he misses  the Texas Panhandle.

We left Raton, NM (The friendlest town we spent the night in.)  Drove east into the Volcano fields.

This area had many Antelope

They really blend with the snow on the ground.

Across the vast plains.

Into the farmlands.

Not much to see but piles of Tumbleweeds

Then you get to DUMAS

Arriving in Dumas was like the big thing of the day.

I hope you enjoyed the trip.

Good times! I've been mule deer hunting in Raton and went home a few weekends with a service buddy, Dave "Tuck" Tucker who was from Dumas and goose hunted there, of all things. Got into some snow geese hot and heavy there. I couldn't hardly believe it.

Great pics, Lile.

My wife saw the first heard on the right side of the road. I stopped and got out of the car to take the pictures at 200-300 yards. After getting back into the car I turned to fasten my seatbelt and saw the other herd just across the fence on the other side of the car. I was so focused on taking pictures of the first group I missed the group 50 yards away on the other side of the road from where the car finally stopped. Cool The NM Antelope have a much lighter face than the South Dakota Antelope I have taken.
