Better than him going to U of M... They would have just chewed him up and spit him out.  NOT that I was gaga over Rich, but they didn't give him a chance to finish a turn around considering the changes he was making in the program.

During one of his interviews a couple of weeks ago he said he wouldn't go to another college team in respect to Stanford and that he'd either stay or go up to the next level, an NFL team.

I kinda feel sorry Andrew Luck, but then again he still has time to change is mind about entering the draft.

He does, but if I were him I'd stay and finish with Stanford. His dad said it well, that there are lots of moving parts in college football programs and coaches are one of them.

I agree, Luck received a lot of excellent advise and made the right decision.

Not so sure about Harbaugh though. True the timing for a big NFL contract was in place and he remains local with the Niner's, but they aren't even close to the organization they were back in the 80's and early 90's. Then there's the possibility of an NFL strike this year. Not knowing all the variables I probably would have waited one more year. Besides college chicks are hot.  Bucky

That's generally true. I'm somewhat envious of my friend who's an English prof. But I remember hearing the Fleet Street Singers song "Stanford Girl"...basically how they take so many classes, "She ain't got time for me." I just hope he doesn't have to hang out with Denise DeBartolo York much. I bet his contract reads: "10.5 million for coaching, 2 million for promotional appearances, 12.5 million for meetings with Denise."

You can't run a spread and play with the big boys. It is a viable option and that is it. A pro set is required to make it to the big time. That is why we got chewed up by OSU, MSU....
I was at the Michigan-Illinois game, three overtimes and 67-75. The only blitz that Rich Rod ran was the last play of the game that won it. In this case, not to little too late and very lucky. They continued to not blitz the rest of the year. Denard running right and left and a small defense was it. He  deserved what he got, fired.
Harbaugh, a mixed offense and a big defense that practices against it would be a positive change, big time. That doesn't matter now.
