Julio,
Just heard thru the grape vine that you had a successful surgery and are once again home recuperating.

This is great news my friend, wish I had found out about it earlier, would have been praying for ya!  Glad ya didn't need my help Wink but I've added ya to my prayer list just to be safe.  I wish you a speedy recovery.

Now that you have a couple hundred posts under your belt, I hope you will start posting more on this Forum (Almost Anything Goes).  Myself and others have gotten to know you a little thru your technical forum posts.  We have a nice community of different personalities.  I am sure you will find several others here you can relate too.  I can guarantee we will make you laugh as well as shake your head in disbelief!

So, get some rest and when your up to it give us a post on how your doing!

Take care!

B

Hey Guys,
Yes in '86 & '87 I had a surgery on my lower back in both these years, same spot. Pain, Numbness & Weakness has followed in both my legs since then. I was getting to the point it almost hurt to much to walk and the lack of feeling in parts of them did not look real good to me for the long haul either. So in the last 3 years or so Ive been searching for a good Doc to help me. Most of them would not touch me with a large stick and there replies were always the same (Not Operable).
Ive had many other surgeries in my life and some were done by very Renowned Docs and some were not, most of these the results were pretty fair..  Ive had 2 more surgeries now in the last 3 months at the same spot in my lower back as in the '80's. So far I seem to be doing ok, not perfect though but not worse either. I will not know much more for awhile.. I do now know that this 4th one was the last one though, no doubt about it. I also know that Im about 5/16" taller too, which is always a plus when you are 5' 8" tallBig Grin

Thanks for Your Support and Prayers Guys, its All Good!

Thanks for sharing that with us Julio.  I truly hope that they got it right this time!  I hope you find relief from the pain and numbness and get your legs back full strength!

I had some lower back problems a few years ago that had me on Morphine for a solid month.  Just coughing or sneezing would make me cry it hurt so much.  I can't imagine having to deal with it for over 20 years!  It is truly amazing what they can do nowa days if you find the right Doctor.

Don't rush things and follow the Doctor's orders!  I am keeping you on my prayer list!  It sounds like you have had more than your fair share of medical problems and it is time to enjoy the good life!  Healthy and pain free!

Take care of yourself and keep us posted on your progress!  Hopefully, if the OT ever has a round up, you'll be there dancing a jig around the campfire!

Take lots of Vitamin E.
It has properties that help prevent or at least minimize scarring and promotes the growth of healthy tissue.

After my back and neck surgeries my neurosurgeon (an ol'farm boy) told me to eat alot of meat. Said it promotes both tissue and bone growth/healing.
