Has anyone here seen a Jarrett Tri Lock action? I've been wanting to build a custom rifle for a long time, and have yet to settle on an action. I was going to use a Stiller Predator, but really want a 60 degree bolt throw for more ocular clearance. (and help clear the oversized bolt knob) I thought about using a Wby. Mark V action, but there are things about it I don't like too, like how the bolt is guided by the little pin, that is retracted by the trigger, and I want this to be a full on custom, so a trued factory action is out.  My custom is going to be like the Highlander. In the end there will be only one, so I have to get this right the first time. Anyway, if any of you have seen one, I'd really appreciate some feedback on it. Pros, cons, other thoughts......... I'm reluctant to spend what Kenny Jarrett gets for an action without ever seeing one, but it has some features I'm really fond of.

Yes...........For a price. Which is plenty. I'm trying to decide if the price is worth having the 60 degree bolt lift vs. just buying a Stiller Predator that I was considering.

Well, I called Jarrett today, and played 20 questions with them. They put to rest my fears of using their actions. They actually have some very nice features, and someday when I can afford one, I'll probably go that route. They are similar in most ways to other custom actions, but with 3 locking lugs, and a shorter bolt throw.

I'm suprised that there aren't more tri-lug bolt designs for bolt actions and autos. The idea just seems stronger and more efficient to me.
