Yom Ha'atzmaut -- Today is the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of modern Israel.

Join me in wishing the only functioning democracy in the Middle East many more.

I will be going to Israel a month from now.  This time around a couple of our friends are coming a lot, so rather than just spend time with family we will travel around a fair bit.  I'll try to write down my impressions and post pictures on my blog.

ILya

Fabulous ! But please be very careful buddy .... did you see what happened in Lebanon today ? Believe it or not I'll be worried about you until you make it back . My wife said we send our prayers for all of you while you're there and a safe return . Sounds wonderful . 60th !!!!  WOW and I thought my 40th was something ..... but you know you're still not too old to peep at a few Jewish girls ...

SIXTY YEARS!!  Have a good time and take a lot of photos. Be careful, of course. I will pray that you are not anywhere near any car bombings, etc.  I only hope our next president has the sense to continue to support Israel.

Gentlemen, thanks for the good wishes, but I have to say that I am far safer in Israel than I would be in about 50% od Los Angeles County.

There it is more collateral damage from the bombs that make it deadly in Israel. In LA you are the target Even if it is random. Good luck on the trip.

I must say I am alittle envious, But very glad for you. Excellent I hope to go some day, before the rapture ofcourse. Afterward we will spend alot of time there. If you get the oppertunity maybe you could ask one of the diplomats or maybe a soldier if they are open to a slightly used but experienced American soldier serving in their Army. Our Army has decided to put me to pasture. I've got too many good yrs. to quit. Just a thought.

The main thing is keep your eyes and ears open and trust your gut. If a plan bothers you go a different way.

God Bless, God's Speed and enjoy the Holy land!  Howdy

Happy Anniversary to Israel and many more, too! For those sixty years we have had a best friend in the Middle East. No other even comes close.
