I'm thinking of getting the viper pst ffp 6-24 by 50. I read a post on here of a guy saying the glass is not up to par for the price of the scope. Any better options in this price range, or is the guy that wrote the post have too many high end scopes? I have the SS 3-9 and i think the glass is awesome, is the PST glass better or worse, is PST worth the money? Thanks guys.

The Viper PST is a great scope decididely better than leupold IMO( I've had both). SS HD glass not comarable to PST you would have to compare it the SS to the Razor line from vortex which also has HD glass. I have a 6-24 PST and have looked threw the SS 5-20 and the razor 5-20 both are awsome and can't go wrong with either of course your taking alot more money than the PST line the one thing that you will be disapointed with is the amount of elevation built into the turret the 6-24 PST only has 65 moa on my AR10 in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 22 MOA base with a 200yard zero I only have 25 MOA to dial in and that only takes me out to 900 yards. Big problem considering that with the load I use it goes subsonic at 1400 yards. The SS5-20 has 100 MOA of elevation the Razor has 125 MOA of elevation wich will give you plenty of elevation for your 50. For under $1000 the Sightron S3 has 100 MOA and a good reticle, good glass close to the PST  but no illum it's all about trade off's. I'm thinking about the new Bushnell 3.5-21 wich has glass just about as good as whats in the razor but comes with a reticle similar to a Horus but for under $1400. The nice thing about the reticle is that you don't have to dial it in because you can just hold off. but it has 86 MOA of elevation but I think with a 20 moa quik detach mount I should be alright. Hope this helps. Thinking about selling the PST to get the Bushnell.

I shot yesturday with my 4-16 PST, and with the SS 5-20.  There definatly is a difference with both set on 16X and looking at a target, that said I never felt I needed more than what the PST had to see my target.  I really like the PST I have for the money but I have the SFP model.  When you compare the two in cost the question you have to ask yourself is weither you want to spend a couple hundred more bucks for a non-illuminated SS 5-20 and have noticably better glass?

I think the 4-16 PST would be better then the 6-24. I own the 6-24 and I love it, but over 20x it gets a little blurry so that's why i would like to trade it for a 4-16
