i see on the swfa website it says swfa ss 6x42 just curious if these optics are still made by tasco?

on the other hand i would like an opinion on my next optic purchase im between 4 scopes
the vortex viper pst 1-4x24 MOA uncapped turrets
the vortex viper pst 2.5-10x32 MOA uncapped turrets
the SWFA SS 6x42 MOA
or the SWFA 10x42 MOA
scope will be mounted on 16" custom build ar in 223 wylde(mainly shooting 223 ammo)
my main use will be ringing steel out to 500 yards and coyote/varmint hunting 200 yards or less
which scope will best suit my needs. im very familiar with MOA not at all with MRAD ive noticed most all swfa ss scopes are geared toward mrad im ok with a mil dot/mrad reticle as long as my turrets are in MOA as i can just dial my elevation.
thanks

Tasco has had no part of the SS brand since SWFA purchased the rights to that name.

Also, Tasco never made any scopes. They designed them and had them made over seas like many other manufacturers still do today.

I have both the Mil Quad 6x and the Mil Dot 6x and for coyotes I would recommend the Mil Dot version as the lines are a tad heavier.  Both will work since the outer three heavy pointed lines show up very well in low light on a Mil Quad, but the dots are heavier on the mil dot where the Mil Quad is much finer and more precise and better suited for daylight use and capable of great precision. The mil dots make great hold over marks for longer range on something the moves like a coyote. Really I tend to think the ideal coyote scope is a 1-4x Trijicon accupoint with a red post but thats lots more money.

I'm in need of a similar use scope for both my 6.5 Creedmoor and my 223 bolt gun.
I'm going with the 6×42 SS.
They have that scope in both mil dot and mil quad reticle with matching turrets.
I've played with my variables on different set powers and 10x is too much for me for a 50' fast shot on a called in predator. But 6 x will work. I have thot about a 10 x and mount a Burris Fast Fire on top of it. But will prolly just stay with the fixed 6 x.
