Anyone have any recent experience with IOR scopes?  I'm mainly interested in the fixed 4x32.  I recently picked up a .257 Roberts built on a VZ24 and feel like I want to top it with something "European".  It came with a fixed 4 BSA on it that I had to promptly remove.  My kids wouldn't even take it for their .22's!   Kahles or S&B are also options, but the IOR looks interesting for way less $$.

For a caliber as versatile as the .257 Roberts, I would want at least a 3-9 variable on it.  I have payed with the IORs a little bit, but never the fixed 4X.  They have always struck me as pretty good scopes, but I have always had a nagging, bad feeling about the long-term quality of these scopes.  Go to Romania for just an hour and you will understand what I mean.  That being said, a lot of people are very happy with them.

ranburr, I also thought hard about the 3x9.  I already have a Remington 722 in .257R with a VariX III 3.5-10 on it that covered everything I've ever asked of it.  The VZ24 I picked up is a bit more compact so I was thinking of the 4x for it.  I still have the possibility of the 3x9 nagging at me though!  Thanks for your reply.

IOR makes exelent scopes and you will be happy with them, but for your rifle I think you need more power than 4x..The IOR 6x42 or the variable 2.5-10x42 are good choices.
