I recently purchased an IOR Valdada 6x24x50 scope with the illuminated reticle. Even at the lowest setting, the glare from the light keeps me from seeing the target. Also the power scope ring to change magnification is extremely difficult to turn. Has anyone addressed these issues with the manufacturer or with a dealer. Any solutions offered?

Been a few posts already concerning the brightness issue, haven't heard anyone post a solution or factory solution either. I wouldn't get too excited about the power ring turning stiff as they loosen with use and unless its impossible to turn in the cold it shouldn't be a problem.

Here's an idea, try using a CR1216 Battery instead of the 2032, it uses 25mah insted of the 230mah, both are 3.0 volts that should help dim the light. Let us know how that goes.

thanks for starting new post and not piggybacking it on the uso/ior one. Lots of tactical shooters use the illumination during the day, when going from light to dark this has advantages. a lot of scopes do not have bright enough illumination and these shooters have complained to the makers or devised methods of doubling the battery storage back to increase the brightness. If you can get to a specialty battery store go thru their catalogs and select a battery witht the same dimensions but lower voltage. Leave the scope in a window seal or heat it with hair dryer, gently of course and see if this will loosen up the lubricant or allow it to flow to places that aren't getting any.

thanks cyborg for the numbers, this is the usual solution, the batteries supplied are only a suggestion since 2032's are so common they get used most of the time. (cyborg just did all your leg work)

You're most welcome, I'm always happy to help that's what makes this forum so beneficial to its readers. Dale you've certainly done alot of helping yourself so thank you sir. Your idea for gently heating the scope in order to spread the lube is a great idea that I employ, I neglected to advise on this.

Thanks for the quick response. Where can the CR 1216 battery be purchased? Is this available at Walmart or must it be ordered from IOR?

Wal-Mart should have it as any place, like a Radio shack probably would as well.
