Anyone familiar with 3-18x42 35 mm IOR? Is it a scope SWFA may be offering in the future? Doesn't seem to be much information out there on it.

Not a lot of IOR lovers over there it appears (although I haven't read everything). I almost bought the 50mm IOR but ended up with a Night Force NXS instead. I like the Night Force, it's a quality scope. I just want a scope that sits lower and it's hard to find higher magnification with the smaller objectives (and for good reason). I wish Leupold would make their Mark 4's in a 6.5-20x40. Or maybe make a Mark 4 with that new funky crescent objective. I've been tempted to just buy a VX-III L/R in the 6.5-20x40 but they don't illuminate that model. The IOR is still tempting with the 35mm tube though. Especially if I can find one under $1000 which if the pricing per objective size model holds true, it should fall under that number.
Except no one is offering that scope other than Valdada directly and their price is unacceptable, of course. |

Yeah, Val at IOR has pissed a lot of folks off it seems. I had an issue that got resolved. He blamed me, but replaced it.
I'm not a big IOR fan either.. I've owned 2 and they were OK, but the freakin eye relief SUCKED!! I do like the MP8 reticle though...
Why do you like the 35mm tube so much?
What about the Zeiss Conquest as an option?? A 20 moa rail will fix the lack of elevation. |

I like fat tubes is all, especially since S&B thinks it's a good thing as well as USO (mmmmmm 40mm tube). Oh and you get it in your head you need to be able to adjust that reticle for a billion yard shot just in case. Fatter tube, more MOA adjustment. And I like slow heavy bullets 190 grains at 2600-2700 fps.
But I don't need a 35mm tube because I do use a canted rail. I do want the ocular lower though and an illuminated reticle and more than 14x. MP8 reticle is cool. My NXS has the NPR-R2. Very nice. Edited by TwoGun |
