I have several questions regarding IOR scopes:

what is the difference between 4x24 M1 and M2 scopes?
has anyone tried the 6x30 scope with 35 mm tube? how about 6x42 with 30mm tube? how does it compare to a similarly priced Leupold 6x42?

I have IOR binoculars that I am very happy with.  Also, a friend of mine has an earlier generation IOR 6x42 scope with 1" tube that is optically superb.  That makes look very hard at these scopes.

Thanks.

Ilya

M1 is the .308 version and it has a longer eye relief (3"0 than the M2 (2.15") which was designed for a .223 AR15.

They appear to be brighter and clearer than the 6x42 Leupold.  We have not carried them long enough to get any real feedback as to how durable they are and how good the warranty is.  Most common complaint is their cosmetics.

Thanks Chris.

You list 308 and 223 versions for both M1 and M2 for a total of four varioations.  Are M1 308 and M2 308 only different in eye relief with all else being equal?

Also, IOR Valdada lists different eye reliefs for these scopes than you do: 3.15" for M1 and 3" for M2.  Are they just being "optimistic" about their scopes?

Another thing is that Valdada list the weight of M1 as 16 oz versus 14oz on SWFA website (oh, and I think you've got M1 picture for both M1 and M2 scopes).

I apologize, if I am being annoying with this, but I am just trying to understand.

Thanks

Ilya

IOR is very screwed up.....information wise.  It is a one man operation in the U.S.  They don't even have stock numbers for their product.  It drives our warehouse crazy!

After further review......The M1 was the first model and they were made for both .223 and .308.  The M1 was made with a long tube so that it could be mounted on bolt action rifles....well the AR15 crowd wanted a shorter version with less eye relief so the M2 was born.  The M2 is too short to mount on a bolt gun so the M1 was kept around in .308 only.  We still have some in .223 that were made before the M2 was available.  We also had some .308 M2 scopes made for AR10's.

One last difference I forgot about is that the M2 has an adjustable eye piece.

As far as the eye relief goes I don't know.  Paper work says one thing and their site says another.  Maybe they changed and did not tell us.  I will give them a call and adjust our site if needed.

Thanks for the heads up.
