Does anyone know if the IOR 3-18X42 hunting scope be available in a non-illuminated version in the near future ? Otherwise I've narrowed down my scope selection to the IOR 2.5-10X42  or the Meostar 4-16x44. How do they compare ? The 3-18x42 would be first pick ,but it's $600 more and I don' need the illuminated reticle. If the IOR was 12-14 power;it would be no contest. I would just like to have the extra magnification available with the huge FOV the IOR offers at low power. Thanks in advance.

This one says it is not illuminated?

Can't go wrong with the 2.5-10x42 either...  I use that one for hunting....

Thanks for that info, the picture shows this version has a SF knob, but it still has the reticle intensity switch at the rear of the scope. It's just costs the same as the illuminated version, which makes it a very expensive SF add-on. What rifle have you got the 2.5-10x42 on ? how does 10x power compare to other scopes, given the differences in makers specifications/claims.

My friend have Meopta Artemis 3000 4-16x44 which is almost the same scope as the one u want but with tactical knobs. He is impressed with the overall quality and clarity of the glass.
I can comment only the glass part since I don't have meopta.
On the other had IOR have the same glass but internals are better (some say). For me its a dead race.

To my eyes, IOR has better glass than the Meopta (I have played primarily with Meopta Meostar).

Obviously you get what you pay for, but I would put the IOR up to any mfg.  I wouldn't get rid of this scope for anything.

Absolutely love it....
