Hello ,

I'm looking for help .
I'd like to know what would be the best height ring for an IOR 6-24x50 on a Tikka T3 varmint with a ken farrel 20 moa mount , low ? medium ? high ?

Thanks .

My guess is medium should have plenty of clearance and still provide a good cheekweld but the truth is a lot of which ring height is right for you depends on how you hold the rifle as some people really prefer the scope low and the low rings might work so you may have to try one or the other to see which you prefer.

When I had that same scope I used low rings on my FN SPR and it cleared just fine even with butler creek caps.
You have to take into account that the 35mm tube is going to make the scope sit higher than a 1 inch or 30mm tube.  Medium would probably put you to high, I still had a use a cheek piece even with Low rings.

It is on the farther back rifle in the pic

Also take into account that Ken Farrell bases are Weaver bases, not picatinny.  So if you are planning on using IOR, TPS, or Seekins rings, the Farrell base will not work with those rings.  I would get a Seekins, IOR or TPS base instead.

Wow , thanks for telling me , I didn't even thought of that .

I can't find any bases for tikka but I found this :

http://www.tpsproducts.com/product_info.php?cPath=14_29_31&products_id=132

"Alloy Steel, black oxide finish to Mil-C-13924 standards. 5/8" (15.8mm) wide. Height measured from top of base to center of ring. 35mm - Low: 1.025" (26.04mm)."

They have only low rings in 35 mm weaver .
You think it will fit ?

If you called Ken Ferrall I bet he would make you one that is cut with Picatinny slots.  I know he has done that for others.

As far as those rings, I would guess they would fit.  That is what was on my rifle was TPS low rings.

I'll try to buy these then .
Since you had buttler creeks on your IOR , do you know what size of eye and objective covers I have to take ? I'd like to put some too .
And last question :
Do you know wich shop is best to buy this scope ? I've called SWFA , they haven't got any .

I found a few shops :
