So, you're deer hunting in a tree stand and a bear starts climbing up your ladder...what would you do?

This guy just asked the bear a question.

I was surprised at how well he was able climb the ladder, looks like he did that before.

I probably would have shot him by that point, or at least had a really big gun pointed at him instead of a camera.

My luck has been with me when shooing them off. This guy did exactly what I do. "Hey, what are you doing there" works pretty good.

One more reason to carry a magnum pistol when bow hunting.  Never know when you might need that thing

That is absolutely hilarious! The bears reaction is priceless! Don't get me wrong, i think i would have sh*t my pants twice over but i got a good laugh out of the calmness of the guy and how the bear reacted. I fully expected it to go flying off, but it calmly got down off the ladder and just trotted away.

if you are hunting bear in mn it doesnt matter since bear season is one season in itself. archery and rifle hunting for bears occurs at the same time.

From the Michigan DNR rules book

Archery Deer Seasons
During the archery deer seasons, it is illegal to carry afield a pistol, revolver or other firearm while bow hunting for deer.

Exceptions: This prohibition does not apply to pistols carried under authority of a concealed pistol license or properly carried under authority of a specific exception from the requirement of a concealed pistol license. However, a concealed pistol license does not authorize the individual to use the pistol to take game except as provided by law.

The bears face looked like my kids when they do something wrong.

I would have asked the bear if it like the taste of poopie, if he didn't I would tell him to move along I'm covered in it.

In NC a conceal carry doesn't provide that exception.

It said in the article that he "threw his bow" at the bear.  I assume this was after he had used all the arrows in his quiver first.  If not, the boy needs to rethink his strategy.

Guy in the stand is very calm, or at least it sounds that way.  In SD you can carry a pistol if you have a CC permit while bow hunting.

I know it was just a black bear and they are pretty skittish of humans but it was a big black bear and he had no escape route.  He was way to calm.  I bet he had the cam corder in one had and a .454 in the other pointed between the eyes of that bear.
